On May 6, the biographical sports drama ‘Jhund,’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, will premiere on ZEE5. The film, directed by Nagraj Manjule of ‘Sairat’ fame, is based on the life of Vijay Barse, a real-life hero and creator of Slum Soccer, an organisation that aims to improve the well-being and development of children from low-income families who have a passion for football.
Jhund, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ankush Gedam, Akash Thosar, Rinku Rajguru, and others, depicts the life of a slum dweller and their fight to fulfil their dream. Amitabh Bachchan plays Vijay Barse in the film, which also has Tanaji Galgunde, Sayli Patil, Vicky Kadian, Kishor Kadam, and Bharat Ganesh Pure play significant parts. The protagonist uses his life experience to tear down societal barriers for himself and his community. The movie will be launched on the ZEE5 streaming platform.
Jhund Movie Trailer
The trailer depicts a group of adolescents from a Mumbai slum who are irresponsible, rebellious, and involved in illicit activities, but a guy, played by Bachchan, sees immense potential in them. It follows his efforts to form a National Football Team out of these youths. Big B’s passion is heartbreaking, but the range of emotions he displays as a coach, from playful and joyous to heartbroken and helpless in a matter of minutes, is a masterclass in acting. The youngsters are so young and well-suited to the roles that they give the story rawness, freshness, and authenticity.
According to a news source, director Nagraj Manjule said this about his film’s digital premiere “Jhund’ has a great narrative that is sure to move the audiences!”. Amit Ji and the kids breathed life into the characters, and I am delighted that today, thanks to its digital release on ZEE5, people will be able to watch it all over again.” During the film’s promotion, director Nagraj Manjule talked about working with Amitabh Bachchan, saying, “It was terrifying thinking about how I would be able to work with him. I have never worked with actors before Jhund. So I’d consider what the procedure would be and how I’d instruct him. But, to his credit, he never made me feel pressed or burdened “.
“The tale of Jhund crosses boundaries,” says Bhushan Kumar, the film’s producer. “A film that has received a lot of acclaim and appreciation around the country is scheduled to make its digital premiere on ZEE5,’ he explains. It’s a terrific feeling to take Jhund to the next level because this release will allow a bigger audience to see Nagraj Manjule’s jewel not just in India but all across the world.” ‘Jhund,’ directed by Nagraj Manjule and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Gargee Kulkarni, Meenu Aroraa, and Manjule, will premiere on ZEE5 on May 6 exclusively.
