3 Tips to Splurge on Your Honeymoon

Planning a wedding can be stressful, but planning a honeymoon can sometimes be even more challenging. Sure, the wedding itself will be an event you’ll remember forever, but the honeymoon should be something extra special.

If you have the budget, forget about taking a long road trip or staying in a local hotel! Your honeymoon is the perfect time to splurge and kick off your new adventure with your spouse on the right foot. That said, we’ve got two tips to help you make it extra special.

1. Fly First Class

One of the best ways to splurge on your honeymoon is flying first class and visiting several vacation hot spots. Flying first class lets you enjoy the flight intimately with your partner. This is an excellent idea if you’re flight is more than three hours.

2. Destination Hop

As we mentioned, the best way to splurge on your honeymoon is to vacation hop from one place to another. Start at one of the all inclusive resorts in Hawaii for a few nights, and then head down to Bermuda for more island fun.

Now, our suggestion is to start in Hawaii because it gives you a chance to go island hopping, allowing you to enjoy the wonderful weather, beautiful mountains, and lush greenery. To splurge and make the honeymoon memorable, take a scenic helicopter ride. This way, you can get a bird’s eye view of active lava flows and other wondrous sights.

In Bermuda, you and your significant other can rent a moped (tourists aren’t allowed to rent cars) and explore as much of the island as you want. The two of you can also go on a hot air balloon ride or parasailing to see some sights in a new way. For a more relaxing day, you can always charter a boat for a fishing expedition or go scuba diving.

However, no matter where your honeymoon itinerary takes you, dine at the best restaurants and be sure to stay in the best hotels or most luxurious rooms available.

If islands, beaches, and lush greenery aren’t your cup of tea, there are several other destinations to travel to.

For example, if you start in Greece, you’ll have the opportunity to see the Parthenon and other historical sights. Plus, Greece has a variety of top-quality restaurants. There’s plenty to do, so you’ll want to spend at least three or four nights in Greece.

From there, you can make your way west to Italy, where you can have romantic dinners and visit renowned museums. You can visit either France or Spain next — or if you really want to splurge, choose both.

Finish the honeymoon with a trip to Scotland and embrace the stunning scenery while immersing yourself in the rich heritage and culture. To experience the country’s grandeur, rent a car and take your time driving to have one the best road trips ever.

Of course, another way to hit multiple destinations is to take a cruise. Rest assured that they have fantastic rooms for honeymooners. Visiting multiple ports over a week or two and shopping to your heart’s content will definitely provide lasting memories.

Splurging on destination hopping will give you the chance to visit multiple places on your bucket list and create super special memories.

3. Make it an Adventure to Remember

If you prefer to stay closer to home, pick a nearby major city and take a helicopter tour or luxury boat ride that offers a romantic dinner.

You should also check for the following opportunities that are available all across the country:

  • Skydiving
  • Zip-lining
  • Hiking in local state parks
  • Luxury home or cabin rentals
  • Scuba diving
  • Motorcycle rentals
  • Parasailing

Whether you take an ultra-expensive trip that takes you across the world or you opt to stay home and splurge on luxurious accommodations and local offerings, having an open budget can assure an extra special honeymoon.
