5 EASY AND HEALTHY RECIPES TO MAKE AS A COLLEGE STUDENT

A major issue at this time of year is how to keep healthy and protect your skin from the blistering heat of summer. The hot weather during the summer season is not only physically exhausting and uncomfortable, but it also puts us at risk for illnesses such as skin irritation, rashes, fever, exhaustion, and dehydration.

To beat the heat and stay active and healthy during this time, extra precautions must be taken. Prevention is far superior to treatment, and following a few easy guidelines can go a long way toward ensuring a healthy and comfortable summer vacation.

Try not to feel too stressed out

The summer has begun and with that many concerns arise. With the boiling hot weather, you certainly don’t need a stressed-out head. Remember that a good portion of these stressors are all in your head and you need to play strategically to beat them.

If you’re worried about planning your accommodation for your summer vacation, sit down and browse through your options. Keep in mind that renting a studio or an apartment would be way cheaper than a hotel room. If your options are on the West Coast, make sure to look for cheap studio apartments in San Jose, or ones in San Diego, as these locations offer plenty of options to choose from. Make sure to plan your accommodation way ahead of time as this is the only way to stop thinking about it and not stress.

If you’re concerned about a summer body, as they call it, remember that nature has given us all bodies that are made to enjoy life as they are. Get your favorite swimming suit and head straight to the beach without looking back. If you planned to lose some weight before summer but instead gained some, make sure to tie your swimwear the way you like them to be and enjoy the most amazing time of your life.

Make healthy food choices

Food spoils quickly in the heat, so make sure it’s freshly cooked and well-stocked. It’s critical to store and refrigerate food properly to reduce the possibility of contamination. It is preferable to consume little quantities at numerous intervals rather than large ones all at once.

Foods high in fats and carbohydrates have a high-calorie content, which causes the body to heat up. It strains the intestines and takes a long time to digest. Eating high-water-content fibrous vegetables and fruits, such as tomatoes, watermelons, and oranges is the best method to preserve health while also enjoying their delicious taste.

If you’re going to spend the day outside and don’t want to spend lots of money on restaurant meals, make sure to take with you some easy basic snacks that will keep you full until your next meal. You can prepare simple protein shakes or get your hands on some quality meal replacement shakes that will fill your stomach until dinner.

Drink plenty of water

Water can help detox the body and undo some of the harm caused by an unhealthy diet and drink. Drink at least 2 liters of water a day, specifically if you exercise and spend a lot of time outside in the sun. Don’t let the time at the beach make you forget that you need to drink some water to keep yourself cool internally.

The sea might cool your body from the outside, but you still need to stay hydrated from the inside to stay healthy and enjoy your vacation more. Dehydration can make you sick while you’re on vacation, so keep a water bottle with you at all times. If you forgot to drink water and don’t feel well while at the beach, make sure to have some electrolytes with you at all times, as they can reverse some of the damage dehydration might have caused.

So, to enjoy yourself more and have the best time of your life, don’t forget to bring a big bottle of water with you to the beach if you plan to spend more time there. And always remember that electrolytes are your best friend if you feel dehydrated.

Do a quick workout

To help you stay energized, you may do a little workout every other day or a few times a week. This might be anything from a quick 15-minute jog on the beach to a few body-weight exercises as soon as you wake up. To prepare for the day ahead, do some squats, pushups, planks, lunges, and star jumps.

If you’re especially into fitness, you may even develop a few workouts before you leave. Many resorts and hotels will also offer a gym on-site or close by – if you can manage to remain out of the sun for a few minutes, head on over and get a decent workout in.

Final thoughts

While the prospect of visiting a new place might be exhilarating, it can also be worrisome. The stress of meticulously preparing the perfect holiday, down to the last detail, maybe overwhelming and weigh us down. We even forget that being on vacation is supposed to be about relaxing and having fun! Let’s leave all of the tension behind and focus on how to make the most of your vacation, no matter where you’re traveling or who you’re with.
