Your baby needs only some essential baby products for the first three months. Undoubtedly, if you will consult with a baby registry checklist or ask a baby gear store, they will tell your baby needs everything under the sun. At least, everything that one can afford easily.
Some parents are very excited and want everything to bring a blissful moment for their newly born baby. They carry many fantastic products and gadgets. However, first-time parents and those who do have not enough budgets can purchase only essential baby products. One thing more, your baby needs products only. Expensive or not, they don’t make any difference, we promise.
If you want to get through your first days and weeks and don’t want to run to the store at the last moment, you should be ready some days before the new guest’s arrival at your home.
Most in-demand baby products
We can quickly enlist the products we need for our newly born babies.
Clothing and Layette products
Although you may want to purchase some fancy and brilliant outfits for your baby, the baby doesn’t need anything gay and shining in those first weeks. Therefore, simple, plain, and budget-friendly clothes are fine. You don’t need to buy a whole stock for this purpose. Your baby grows with the light speed, and you will soon find them short for the baby. You can do best with the following:
- Five- Eight, one size outfits depending on how often you do laundry
- Three-Four baby sleep sacks
- Five- Seven pairs of baby socks
- One-Two hats, depending on the weather
While making these purchases, one should consider the weather conditions and other elements. Most doctors recommend wearing hats to your newborn baby, however, if you live in hot climate areas, you can consult a doctor.
Nappies, an essential baby product
- Three- Four packs of reusable cloth nappies or cloths are enough for two days.
Bath Items for kids
Doctors recommend a sponge bath for one or two weeks for your newborn babies. After that, you don’t need to bathe your baby daily; three times a week or so will be enough. Bathing your baby too often can dry or irritate their skin. So you can use the following items while and after the bathing:
- Three-five babies wash clothes
- One – Two hooded towels: adults will also work
- One baby sponge
- One bottle of baby bath wash
- One bottle of baby lotion
- One baby bathtub
You may also have newborn friendly soap and lotion, as newborn skin can be susceptible. Most of us use bathtubs for this purpose.
First Aid and grooming
Firstly, you don’t need a stock of grooming baby products in your cabinet or shelf. For example, you should have some articles, a trim nail for cutting the nails, as they grow very fast. Furthermore, to regularly check the temperature, you need a thermometer, a clean snot to clean their nose, and others according to their use.
- You should have baby nail clippers
- Digital thermometer
- Medicine dropper
- Nasal aspirator or bulb syringe
There are baby pain relief medicines that you should have after the consultation with your doctor.
Sleep and bedding baby products
Whatever bed you choose for your newborn babies like a crib, cradle, bassinet, co-sleeper, etc. However, the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommends that a baby sleeps in the same room with the mother at the first six to twelve months of age. Similarly, bumpers, blankets, pillows and soft toys are unnecessary in babies’ bedrooms.
You may need the following things:
- Crib, Cradle, Bassinet, Co-sleeper, and others are the best for baby sleep
- Any mattress that fits in crib, cradle, bassinet, or co-sleeper
- Three-Four fitter sheets for all the above mentioned.
- One baby monitor
baby feeding supplies
You don’t need anything except a consultation to encounter breastfeeding challenges if you are breastfeeding. If you want formula feeding, you should consult a doctor first of all. However, in the case of formula feeding, you may need some of the following things:
- Ten burp cloths
- Five – Eight bottles, in case of bottle-feeding
- To wash bottles, a bottle brush.
- Bottle nipples of different sizes
- Breastfeeding pillow, nursing pads, nipple creams etc.
- One breast pump
It will help if you have many bottles to avoid mid-night washing bottles in bottle feeding.
Gear and furniture for babies
It is often said that the thing you need for your newborn is a place to sleep and store their clothes. However, many of us go too long to this. They have to change tables, dressers, nursery gliders, toy bins, baby swings, and bouncy seats. On top of all, decorating a baby’s room with beautiful and unique ideas is a good plan. But you can hold on-off to these things until your baby gets older.
You need only one thing: a car seat installed correctly in other cases. The hospital will not allow you to leave until you have a car seat installed in your car, and a car seat will make the journey pleasant and easy for your newborn.
That’s it. You can quickly fill out your registry list and add more items you like and love to have for your baby. Undoubtedly, many other baby products make the parents’ lives easier.
