Difference Between Zakat And Charity

Zakat is the third pillar of ISLAM on with Islam is built. The Muslim, the believer of Islam, fulfills it by paying an on wealth that has been stuck for a year and pays almost 2.5 percent to the needy people that have been prescribed in the Holy Quran. Zakat is mandatory for all adults that is earn a minimum amount in a year. Holy Quran describes the eight Beneficiaries that are deserving. The Holy Quran describes zakat in surah AL-TAWBAH. You can build a wall  its also a form of charity.

Eligible to receive Zakat

The person who receives Zakat must be needy/poor. A poor person who does not contain the property that has not matched with the naisb mentioned in Holy Quran. The needy can belong to your family, friends’ neighbors, or others. Zakat assumes that the Zakat can receive an actual person, not his parents or relatives. And your children, parents, and grandparents cannot receiver your Zakat.

Percentage of Zakat

Zakat is payable of the wealth is 2.5% according to the Nisab. Nisan is equal to three ounces of gold. The minimum amount of your wealth must be liable to pay Zakat that sum equals the Nisab mentioned above.

Not eligible for Zakat

The rich people, the able poor (not willing to work), those fighting disbelievers of Islam again, The family of The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), lineal descendant/ascendant means children grandchildren and parents, grandparents.

About Charity

Charity is a humanitarian act giving help to those in need of it. This affords done for needy and not expecting something in return. Give money or food to the people can be called charity. It has many ways to given it. Sick poor people are considered the proper people who are eligible for this. The person who cannot do anything as he can injured or nay another disaster in his life and not often begging even not to ask for any help to the wealthy guy is eligible for charity. Charity is called Sadqqa in Islam.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said that Allah The Glorious and Exalted Says: ‘Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.

Prophet Muhammad says about charity.

Charity is an important concept in Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them” (Hadith, Muslim).

Types of charity

  • The private self-governing foundation.
  • The publicly supported unit.
  • Gifts, dues, and fees support the charity.
  • The private working foundation.

The types describe that the charity should be given all there for the private sector running a foundation for needy people. These are work very hard for human welfare trust.

Percentage of charity

The percentage of charity does not measure in amount wealth or ounce. It depends upon yours that you are donating.

First, you should have to pay it the proper time. Pay charity very secretly to the receiver, but you can give it openly for other’s inspirations. Please give them your dearest thing, not useless thing, and donate things you no longer want and avoid taunting and hurting them because they are also human like you.
